Don’t Beat Yourself Up

It’s that time of year. We start to lose steam on those resolutions that we made at the beginning of January. I’m here to let you know that everything is going to be o.k.

If you haven’t yet, go check out my blog post, “S.M.A.R.T. Goals“. I explain how to transform ‘resolutions’ into ‘goals’ to best set yourself up for success!

Now, to the point at hand. If you didn’t make any SMART goals and you simply made resolutions, the beginning of February is usually where most people fall off and go right back into their old ways.

It’s ok. We’ve all done it.

The first step is being honest with yourself.

Now, DON’T BEAT YOURSELF UP ABOUT IT!

GET BACK ON COURSE

You may have fallen off the wagon, but this is the point at which you DIG DEEP and remember why you made those resolutions, and get back on course!

Three things to recapture at this point:

Passion – Take some time to go inward to recapture the passion you felt when you first came up with the resolution for yourself. How did you feel when the resolution was first made? What was driving you to make that resolution?

Focus – Get your focus back. You were doing good until now, so that means that you HAVE BEEN FOCUSED for a while. Get focused again. Write down the tasks that you need to complete to achieve your goal! Start doing those tasks TODAY!

Compassion – Be easy on yourself. Have some self-love. It’s all good that you may have derailed a little, nobody is blaming you more than yourself. So be compassionate and give yourself some slack!

WE’RE ALL HUMAN

We’re human, so we slip sometimes. All you have to do is get back on the horse and start riding again! You CAN and you WILL achieve those goals!

QUESTION – What resolutions/goals did you start to lose a grip on this week? Comment below.
